Warung Padang was born from a simple longing — the taste of home. As Indonesians living in the UK, we missed the bold, rich flavours of Masakan Padang that we grew up with in West Sumatra.
What started as cooking for friends and family quickly grew into something bigger. The response was overwhelming — not just from fellow Indonesians, but from British food lovers who fell in love with the complex layers of spice in our rendang, the comforting warmth of our gulai, and the fiery kick of our sambal.
Every dish we make follows traditional recipes passed down through generations. We source authentic Indonesian spices and use only halal-certified ingredients. No shortcuts, no compromises.
